‘Tis the time of year for perfectly curated gift guides for everyone and every occasion. My inbox is brimming with ‘curated gifts for her’, ‘last-minute stocking stuffers’, ‘Gifts he actually wants this Christmas’ and I bet yours is too. You know what they say, if you can’t beat’em, join’em.
Before we rattle off our team’s list for Santa, I’m thrilled to share that Christmas may have come early for Teneriffe Apartments. Unit 61 on the top floor of the building sold for $1,410,000, setting a new benchmark for this style of property.

As mentioned above, I asked the team to pick a property they would choose for themselves – I’m aware property keys don’t count as stocking stuffers, but one can dream.
The Woolstores in particular, with their soaring ceilings and generous wall space, lend themselves perfectly to displaying artwork, so naturally, we had to mention our art selection too. After all, a framed masterpiece does actually fit very well beneath a Christmas tree…

BEN – 11/135 Macquarie Street, Teneriffe
I definitely played the ‘I’m the boss’ card to nab this one as my Christmas wishlist property. Direct riverfront, with private access to the boardwalk and uninterrupted views of the river – I’ve always loved the Mercantile Dalgety Place apartments, and this is a very special property.
Arguably, it is hard to peel your eyes away from the exceptional view, but I would be hanging John Wren’s works throughout this apartment. His bold and colourful pieces would create a wonderful contrast with the calming, neutral interiors, and most importantly, what’s better than having a friend’s art hanging in your own home?!

GEORGIE – 143/53 Vernon Terrace, Teneriffe
The renovation of this apartment perfectly complements the original features of the Mactaggarts Woolstore. A few tasteful pops of colour throughout add a wonderful freshness to the space, making it easy to style and add your own touches.
The soaring ceilings of the Woolstore apartments, in particular the top floor units lend themselves perfectly to oversized pieces of art. With so much wall space begging to be filled, I’d be splurging on at least one oversized Lucinda Jones piece!

JOSH – 68/36 Vernon Terrace, Teneriffe
This top floor London Woolstore apartment is the perfect blank canvas to create a unique home. There’s no need to rush into a renovation immediately here, but there is so much opportunity to make changes down the line if you choose to.
I’d be hanging Slim Aaron’s prints from Fineprintco across both levels of this apartment to add perpetual holiday vibes around my home.

LOU – 152/53 Vernon Terrace, Teneriffe
I’ve already got my Pinterest board ready for this property – with a stunning industrial shell, this is the perfect space to let my imagination run free. I love the exposed heritage features, floating timber stairs and the ledge running the length of the living area, perfect for displaying art.
I’d be adding a selection of pieces from By Lee Jade to my collection. Western/cowboy inspired art is having a moment and I am here for it. The simplicity yet incredible detail of her pieces simply work in every space.

JOHN – 212/88 Macquarie Street, Teneriffe
This is a truly one of a kind Dakota Woolstore property. The use of hand-selected reclaimed timber and the craftsmanship throughout the home is impressive and would be incredibly challenging to replicate. As someone who likes to tinker with things in my free time to understand how they work, I am in awe of the amount of work and skill that has gone into this renovation.
I’d be turning to Fenton & Fenton to create an eclectic collection of artworks to complement the bold touches throughout this apartment.

AMALIE-ROSE – 58/70 Vernon Terrace, Teneriffe
I’ve only just joined the team at PPG, but there’s one thing that stood out to me immediately: heritage properties with large balconies are hard to find and tightly held. This corner apartment in The Cannery features a balcony on each level of the apartment, with great views of the surrounding Woolstores.
There’s a lot of wall space to fill, so I’d be gravitating toward oversized portraits and rich colours – maybe a Hattie Zampa or Emma Martin piece.

LEANNE – 223/88 Macquarie Street, Teneriffe
I typically look after the business’s accounts, but when opportunity knocks, I’m happy to swap spreadsheets for sash windows! I immediately fell in love with this spacious apartment, drenched in beautiful light at golden hour. I can see myself walking my dogs along the river before picking up a coffee to enjoy on my private balcony – the perfect outdoor space that requires zero gardening!
I’d be trawling through House of Spoils to find the perfect collection of prints to place between the original timber beams!

SHELBY – 202/88 Macquarie Street, Teneriffe
Look at the sun spilling in through the sash window – that is the ideal spot for me to flop down on the floor and do absolutely nothing all day, like I usually do.
I can’t say I pay close attention to any artwork, in fact I’m pretty sure I don’t see colours like the rest of the team, so I’d be picking furniture I can claim instead. That couch looks perfect for roaching (that’s lying on my back with all four paws straight in the air, for those of you who aren’t familiar with greyhounds). If the pawrents could buy me that, as well as a few fluffy pillows to rest my long neck on, that’d be great!
On that note, I leave you to build your own property wishlist – there are so many brilliant options to choose from. You’ve got two weekends of open homes left to take a look before we head off for a few days of rest and recovery!
Talk soon,
Ben
