THE GOLDEN ARC

Not to be confused with the famous Golden Arches we all know and love, this stretch of land from the Sunshine to the Gold Coast is set to continue its extraordinary trajectory as the country’s premium market pecking order undergoes the greatest reshuffle we have witnessed in years!

Most Australian homeowners have come to terms with the fact that owning a house with a large backyard is simply no longer a viable option, even beyond the big cities’ limits.

In fact, the million-dollar club is set to rise significantly across regional Australia, with the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and Ormeau-Oxenford leading the charge. The key features of these growth prospects? Proximity to satellite cities, commuting distance of major metropolitan centres, and lifestyle appeal.

It’s good news for owners along the Golden Arc: Spanning from the Gold Coast, across Brisbane toward the Sunshine Coast, this stretch of land is set to emerge even stronger in 2025. In the past five years, the Sunny and Gold Coast have witnessed an identical 76 per cent increase in price, cementing themselves as Australia’s third and second most expensive housing markets respectively, just behind Greater Sydney.

It’s no surprise that these coastal regions have experienced an eye-watering price growth since the pandemic. Having grown up in Burleigh while it was still a well-kept local secret with a few nineties high rises peppered amongst rickety beach shacks, it was only a matter of time before the tides turned. While it’s great to see the value of these premium locations soar in value, it is alarming to see just how far inland the price rise has crept. I think it’s safe to say no one expected to be shelling out a million dollars for a home in Ormeau this soon…

Why do I ramble on about beachfront suburbs when I sell properties along the Brown Snake? Experts predict that Brisbane, with its five year growth rate of 83.5 per cent will likely join its coastal counterparts this year, cementing itself as a premium market to complete the Golden Arc. In fact, it’s expected that all major cities, except Darwin, reach or exceed the $2m mark for luxury properties in 2025.

The long short of it? Premium pockets in Brisbane won’t be dropping in value anytime soon, and sitting on the sidelines is a recipe for disappointment. Can I entice you with a few brilliant opportunities?

224/79 Moray Street, New Farm

It’s hard to believe that just a few decades ago, New Farm was a dilapidated, dingy area. Today, it’s one of Brisbane’s most affluent riverside suburbs, with properties offering unmatched locations and lifestyle.

Unit 224 in the Gleneagles Building is one such home, positioned in the banks of the Brisbane River, with enviable views toward Kangaroo Point, with the Story Bridge and CBD skyline in the distance. Join us for the first open home on Saturday, 1 March at 1pm.

409/88 Macquarie Street, Teneriffe

The Woolstores too could have faced a very different fate had they not been converted from abandoned warehouses to splendid dwellings around the nineties.

In fact, I still find it hard to believe there was a time when Teneriffe was merely a part of Newstead, and a far cry from the vibrant suburb it is today – with unique properties available for sale and coming to the market soon.
