SWEET RELIEF

Legend has it, as the temperatures drop, the property market cools too. For a moment there, it seemed Brisbane might actually follow trends this year. Between the school holidays, a string of long weekends, Trump’s divisive antics in the White House and the Federal Elections, we noticed buyers taking a cautious approach for a few weeks.

I’ve heard through the grapevine that even in medical fields, patients held off locking in elective interventions until the elections were a thing of the past!

The moment the votes were counted, confidence returned with full force, with a number of interested parties pulling the trigger on property purchases during the last fortnight. Colleagues across the industry unanimously agree that in the past two weeks there has been a significant surge in buyer activity!

409/88 Macquarie Street, Teneriffe

This week, I’m thrilled to announce the result we achieved for 409/88 Macquarie Street. This fully renovated (we’re talking electricals and plumbing too, not just a visible glow up) residence spanning 164 SQM on the top of the Dakota Woolstore was secured for $2,480,000 by Buyology Property for their client.

On Tuesday, the RBA announced the widely expected second rate cut for 2025, bringing the cash rate down from 4.10 per cent to 3.85 per cent, and I am confident we’ll experience another noticeable increase in buyer activity as we head into winter.

While the RBA sees inflation risk easing, prompting the most recent change in monetary policy, it does warn that geopolitical instability and tariffs may still disrupt supply chains and drive up prices. Irrespective of Trump’s abrupt decisions, the RBA was likely to have cut interest rates this week due to inflation falling back into the target band sooner than anticipated, but what the rest of 2025 has in store for borrowers is anyone’s guess.

Bond markets and economists remain split on the number of cuts that may be ahead this year, but one thing is certain: our listing board is ready to satisfy the inevitable rush we can expect following the RBA’s announcement on Tuesday.

This week again, we’ve managed to orchestrate a schedule that will make any Type A person’s heart beat faster and your open home experience particularly seamless. I’ve copied our neatly arranged calendar for you below, so you can easily make plans to join us at one or a few of these properties, but first, I want to talk you through some exceptional pre-market opportunities.
